Question:
I actually found this piece curbside in a small iowa town that was having a spring-clean-up pick up day by the city. I’m interested in the time period it was produced, the rarity/desirability of the item and a range of possible value. It is approximately 13" tall, 10" diameter (these are estimates form memory as I do not have the piece with me as I’m typing this up)and I wold conside rit tobe in excellent shape with no chips or cracks and the handle is intact–not sure if it was always open-mouthed or if it would have had a lid/cork, etc. Thanks in advance for your time! Answer: From what you have described, I think you have the Red Wing 20 pound packing jar that is bottom signed. To be complete, you have have to have the original lid. Without the lid, but still in perfect condition the value is around $50. Al Kohlman
