Question:
Hello, my name is Mindi. I have a big collection of crocks after we cleaned out my grandparents home. They were obviously well used. These are just 4 of the #2 crocks I have and was curious about their estimated worth, age, significance between ovals. wings and leaves, and brief history of the products & their uses etc.. First crock (right to left) has a small hairline crack from the top down to the "2". Second crock also has a crack along the side. Third has no visible damage. And fourth has minor chipping on the rim, but no cracks. All are measured approx 10 1/2" high and 9 1/2" wide. Thank you so much for any information. Mindi
Answer: Mindi, cracks in these crocks will drop the value quite quickly. The first 2 gallon birch leaf was produced between 1895 & 1909. Value with crack $25. The second 2 with the small red wing was produced between 1936 & 1947. With the crack, $20. The third 2 gallon Red Wing was produced between 1909 & 1930. Value in perfect condition $60. The fourth 2 gallon Red Wing crock with birch leaves and oval was produced between 1895 & 1909. Value $60. Al Kohlman
