Hi. I have a 3 gallon red wing butter churn that has the normal size wing and the number 3 both of which are well marked. There is no oval on the churn and it does not have a cover. There are no chips, cracks or other imperfections. What would be the approximate value of the piece and would it be worth more or less if it had the oval? Thanks for your help. Ken

Answer: Ken, the value on your churn could be worth more without the oval depending on where the wing is placed and how well stencilled. If the wing is in the center of the churn, well printed and dark the value would be between $200 & $250. Of course, the churn must be mint to reach this value. Al Kohlman
