Question:
I recently purchased a double birch leaf "10 gal. Ice Water" crock (picture attached) from the Redwing Union Pottery Co. The crock is in mint condition–no cracks or chips–and has a hex spigot. The pottery did not have a lid or spigot. We would appreciate knowing the age and the value of this crock. Thanks!! Rodney
Answer: Rodney, your 10 gallon Birchleaf Ice water with the ski oval was manufactured between 1895 & 1912. The ski oval and hexagon bung hole makes this Ice Water stand above many of the others. The stencilling is a little light, but being fully printed pushes that value back up. In mint condition, the value would be between $1800 & $2300. Nice Ice Water! Al Kohlman
