Question:
I have an old union stoneware crock that belonged to my great-grandparents who have ancestry from wisconsin and iowa. it has an unusual shape compared to what I’ve seen on the internet, and has "handle grooves" on the side. it has a number 2 and some leaves in black. it has a big chipped piece missing from the lid area. please see the photo as that shows the detail.

Answer:   Two gallon “elephant ear” butter churns like this are rare. The value with the damage (and not lid) would be between $350 and $450.
