Question:
I am looking to purchase another person’s collection of stoneware pottery. I have approx 14 crocks I would like appraised – Please let me know your rates & other pertinent information. I will ask about 1 question of a particular crock – The crock is a 3 Gal crock with an Indian head inside of a circle with stars surrounding the circle the head is in. One side of the pot has a handle, the other side a modified handle. The surface is spotty but is not pitted. I believe t has the original lid. I would like it valued with & without the lid. The condition, I would say, is +Very Good. Pictures are provided. Thanks for answering my questions. Ann
Answer: Hello Ann. I don’t provide appraisals without physically seeing the pieces and only collect as a hobby. With work and family I do not have the time to travel and complete appraisals. I do a few locally and for insurance purposes (if someone would have a price broken during shipping). So I must pass on your offer. Now for you Indian head churn. I have seen these in the pass, but just have no idea of their value or which pottery manufactured them. With this being said it would be only a guess on value and it really would not be fair to you for me to do this. So I must pass on this as well. My stoneware interest are of course Red Wing and also Wisconsin Stoneware pieces. All other pieces can be somewhat foreign to me. Sorry I was not of much help to you. Al Kohlman
