Question:
I have the Redwing stoneware covered cookie jar. It is round with a sponge band and the word cookies on it.It says Redwing on the bottom.It’s about 8-10 inches around and about 7-8 inches high. I’m guessing on the size since it is packed away. The condition is very good with no damage or cracks. I also have a milk pitcher with the same sponge band. It is about 10 inches tall also in very good shape. Thanks, Carole

Answer: Carole, it sounds like you have what the Red Wing collectors refer to as "Gray Line". If your cookie jar is in mint condition with a mint lid, it has a value in the area of $1000. Without the lid, it would be worth less than have of it’s value as the lid is very hard to find by itself. Your Spongeband (gray line) pitcher in mint condition is in the range of $250 to $275.
