Question:
Hello, I was wondering if you could tell me a little about this stoneware cooler, and how much it might be worth? The piece is in great condition. It does have a small chip on the bottom edge, which is about an inch in length. There are a few small flakes around the bung as well. I have looked in all of my books, but can’t seem to find this piece in any. I noticed that you had another collector with a 10 gallon cooler on here, but theirs had the Red Wing 1st oval, and their "10" was stenciled a little differently. If you could help out at all I would appreciate it. Thanks.

Answer: Your 10 gallon Ice Water was manufactured by the Red Wing Stoneware Company. 10 gallon Ice Waters are a little tough to find and can demand a higher value than the 3, 4, 5 & 6′s. Your cooler has the smaller birch leaves and no oval, which will lower the price somewhat. In the condition you described, I would place the value between $800 & $1000. Nice cooler. Al Kohlman
