Question:
My mother has some Red Wing crocks in her basement. I am wondering about their value. One of the gray/beige colored crocks has the number 10 on it in the color blue. There is a red wing drawing on front.Stamped on the front are the words, Union Stoneware Co. There is another crock in the same color with the number 5 in blue also. It has two sides handles in black. Stamped on the front it says Red Wing Potteries Inc., Red Wing,Mn. The third crock has the number 3 in blue , with the red wing drawing on front also and writing on front says Union Stoneware Co. She has two other crocks, smaller in size with no writing on them . Could you give me any information about these pieces of pottery? Mary Miller

Answer: Mary, without photos of your mother’s crocks, I can only estimate the values on your descriptions. Now the values are based on mint pieces. Any chips, hairlines or cracks will reduce the value. The 10 gallon Red Wing crock would have a value between $125 & $175. The 5 gallon Red Wing crock was made after 1936 & have a value between $50 & $100. The 3 gallon crock would have a value between $45 & $75. The unmarked crocks are valued between $10 & $20. Hope this is of some help. Al Kohlman
