Question:
I have a Red Wing jug that was my Grandpa’s. I am just am trying to get more information on it. I figure that it is old, but have no idea. Here at the details that I am aware of: 5 gallon (the 5 is stamped on it) has the Red Wing on it has the "logo" on it that says "RED WING UNION STONEWARE CO RED WING MINN." it is about 17 1/2 " tall diameter of about 11 3/4 " it has a chip out of the top of the mouth
Answer: You have a Red Wing shoulder jug. It was mostly manufactured between 1918 & 1930. Value in mint condition is $75 to $100. With the chip in the spout, the value would be about half of what I quoted. Al Kohlman
