Question:
I ask a question earlier and then read question answers should have done that first thing now I am certain I have 15 gal red wing self drainer letters are dark and in square no red wing no chips or cracks the lid has a handle also in good condition except wood part is a little beaten up petals around the top with 15 stamped in one of the petals. I know you said the 30 and 40 were too big for collectors would a 15 be worth a little more? I don’t have a stand so I just prop mine in a corner. Thanks for your help Tammie
Answer: Tammie, a 15 gallon self drainer would take up less room then the larger self drainers. However, collectors are minimal when it comes to self drainers. Some collectors would stack a 15 gallon self drainer on top of a 15 gallon Red Wing crock. This would allow you to show two crocks in less room then having a stand for the self drainer and a 15 gallon crock sitting next to it. Again, the self drainers will have a lower value then the crocks themselves. Your 15 gallon self drainer would have a value in the range of $150 to $200. Now it also sounds like you have a 15 gallon Red Wing lid. The lid in mint condition would have a value of $200. Al Kohlman
