HELP! I am frustrated trying to find the history, year and price of a glazed tanish stoneware "over the shoulder" jug. The markings are as follows: 3 THE RED WING UNION STONWARE RED WING, MINNThese two lines in an oval. Would appreciate any help. Thanks heaps! I might add this jug is in perfect condition.

Answer: Hello. Your 3 gallon Red Wing shoulder jug was manufactured between 1917 and 1947. If the size of the Red Wing is 4 1/2 inches, then your jug was manufactured between 1917 and 1930 and would have a value in the neighborhood of $100 to $125. After 1930 the wing was decreased to 2 7/8 inches. These shoulder jugs are valued in the area of $50 to $75. Al Kohlman
