Question:
I have a Patio Supper Set in earth tone color that was produced in the 50′s, maybe later The Patio Supper Set is oval and divided into 3 sections with a 4th for the coffee cup. Red Wing USA is inscribed on the bottom of the plate. I need a coffee cup to replace one that has broken and would appreciate any information you could provide. Rod

Answer: Red Wing introduced two styles of supper tray with cup in 1951. The Festive tray was rectanular in shape, was divided into four sections (including one for the cup), and came with a squarish shaped cup. The Patio tray was shaped like an artist’s palette, was divided into three sections with a raised circle for the cup in one of the sections, and came with a more traditional rounded cup. Today the trays are rather easy to find but finding the cups can be more difficult. Festive and Patio items appear on eBay quite regularly and that might be the best option for someone seeking one cup in a specific color. No doubt the cup you need is also waiting for you in an antique shop somewhere, but where that might be I do not know. The hunt is what makes collecting fun and interesting!
