Question:
I have an envelope that was for Christmas gift to employees that worked at the pottery. On the envelope is something to the fact that this is a Christmas gift of $25 for the year and something to the effect that this gift in no way means that it will be given every year and signed by someone in management at that time. It was given to my mother I believe the year was 1954 but would have to retrieve it to see who had signed it and the year. Is this item to interest of the pottery collectors?
Trish
Answer:
Paper memorabilia is a growing area of interest to Red Wing collectors, and the envelope described here would fall into that category. A company letterhead on the envelope would increase collector interest. The signature could also attract interest, depending on the identify of the person who signed it. Any inscription or link to Red Wing pottery items would also be desireable. An estimated value is not possible based on the limited information provided, but depending on various factors such an envelope might be worth a few dollars or as much as $100.
