Question:
Hi, I just recently found out that I have red wing water pitcher of what I believe – I cant get a picture on there, but here is the description is the shape of a water or milk pitcher about 12 inches high and about 4 or 5 inches wide has a handle and tan in color with yellow, green and pink flowers – thanks Jan
Answer: Your pitcher is from the Orleans dinnerware pattern. The catalog list it as a water jug. Orleans was introduced in 1941 and discontinued in 1949 or 1950. This pattern sold well and remains popular with collectors today. But staining as seen in the photo of your pitcher is a common problem with Orleans. In excellent stain-free condition an Orleans pitcher would be worth $50-75; the staining will reduce the value by half or more.
