Question:
Dear Expert, I have inherited a set of red Wing Magnolia dishes – 8 dinner plates (all in good condition – no chips)#2112, 8 saucers (good condition) #392, 7 B & B plates (good condition #2112 and a sugar bowl with lid. I am wondering the value of this set and where I might find someone interested in purchasing them. Thank you for your assistance.

Answer: Your lot of Magnolia pieces may be of interest to a collector looking to add some basic pieces to his or her collection, or it could be a start to building a full set of Magnolia. The values (per piece) below assume excellent condition — no cracks, hairlines, chips, flakes, etc. Any damage reduces the value significantly.

Dinner plate: $10-$15
Bread plate: $7-10
Saucers: Less than $5 (would be higher if paired with a cup)
Sugar with cover: $15

We do not attempt to connect buyers and sellers in this forum. If you wish to sell your Magnolia pieces as a single lot an antique dealer would be an option. You might also want to consider an online auction such as eBay, or using a selling assistant to list the items on eBay for you. Another  possibility is abvertising in our RWCS Newsletter for more information contact our business office at 800-977-7927.
