Question:
I have quite a collection of Red Wing, Provincial "Brittney" pattern that was left to me by my mother. I would love to know the value of the pieces — I may be interested in selling it. You have one of the pitchers listed on your site under the dinnerware, Provincial. Please let me know if someone might be interested. I am trying to obtain a way to get pics of it on the internet to show. Thanks.
9 – Dinner plates
14 – small bowls
2 – serving bowls
10 – saucers
10 – small plates (same size as saucers, but they don’t have the indentation for the cup)
11 – cups
11 – cake plates
1 – 30 or 32 oz. Pitcher (the neck of the pitcher and handle are a tannish color)
2 – sets of salt and pepper shakers
2 – tea pots with lids
1 – creamer
2 – sugar bowls (one with a lid)
1 – big serving piece with handle and lid
All, of course, have crazing – very few items have chips around the edges – cannot be seen from top view. The stoppers are gone from the bottoms of the salts and peppers.
Answer: Approximate values for your Brittany items are as follows:
Dinner plate: $15-25
Small bowl: $5-10
Serving bowl: $25-30
Cup & Saucer: $20-25
6" plate: $5-15
7" plate: $5-15
Water Pitcher: $50-75
Salt & pepper shaker pair: $15-25
Tea pot with lid: $60-90
Creamer: $10-20
Sugar bowl with lid: $15-25
Casserole with cover: $25-40
All values are for pieces in excellent condition. Chips, cracks, hairlines, flakes and staining all reduce the value considerably.
