Question:
Hello. I recently purchased a piece of Red Wing pottery at a sale. It looks like a small pitcher with a wooden handle and a straight spout. It is a dark brown color similar to that used by McCoy. Can you please give me any information on this piece as to value and time of manufactored? It doesn’t have any crazing or cracks. Thank you in advance for your response to this matter. Misty Evans
Answer: Sorry, but without a photo or a more thorough description I cannot identify your pitcher. Is the pitcher marked Red Wing? Are there other identifying marks or numbers on the bottom? What are the dimensions? Is there any artwork or pattern on the sides of the pitcher?
The only wooden handled Red Wing pitchers that come to mind are three from the Gypsy Trail line: the Plain coffee server, the Plain batter pitcher and the Fondoso coffee server. None of these would be considered "small". Without further information or a photo I cannot place your pitcher as a Red Wing product. Larry
