Question:
I have been collecting Red Wing pottery since ’94 but, I’m no narrowing down my collection to certain colors and patterns. So, I’m in the process of selling a few of my pieces. One piece I bought about 10 years ago is an oblong bowl, with a corn blue/purple glaze on it. At one time the color was referred to as "hyacinth" and was considered rare. Since i’m trying to sell it, is it considered a rare color and what would be a good selling price? thanks for your help! stephanie
Answer: Hi Stephanie, this is part of the "Stereoline", circa 1961. Not a real rare glaze. The art pottery market has slumped quite a bit. Nokomis, some early artware, and the decorator line are doing OK. I would value it around 40.00 or so. thanks, steve n rose
