Question:
I was recently given a set of 9 Red Wing Bob White dishes that a dear friend of my late mother received as wedding gifts in 1961. The brochure is dated Jan. 1 1957. They are all stamped Red Wing Hand Painted Ovenproof U.S.A. 231. I also have the hors D Oeuvres Holder, Covered Butter Dish, Large and small salt and pepper shakers, 24" tray, divided vegetable, creamer, large water pitcher, and 13" platter. They are in excellent condition. Only 2 dinner plates and the butter dish have very small chips. I would like to add more pieces to this. When buying on the internet how do I tell the difference between originals and replicas? Are dished stamped with the pinkish red wings also originals? About what is the value of my set? I would never consider selling it. Thank you very much.
