Question:
I have a Red Wing crock with the number 4 above two birch leaves. It has no handles and has the Union Stoneware Company stamp under the leaves. It is a salt glaze. I’ve never seen this particular crock with the two leaves, only one leaf instead.I was wondering, what is it’s background and value? Thomas

Answer: Thomas, if your 4 gallon Birch Leaf crock has a union oval, then it is a zinc glazed crock and not salt glaze. I was most likely produced between 1895 & 1906. Value in prefect condition is between $70 & $90. Al Kohlman
