Question:
Hi. I recently bought this crock off of Craigslist. I’ve seen other appraisals for similar crocks, but never without the oval marking below the leaves. Could you tell me approximate time period, rarity, and possible value? There is a shallow chip on the bottom surface which shows about 1/4" deep when sitting. Thanks!
Answer: Your 2 gallon birch leaf crock without the oval was produced between 1895 & 1909. Those crocks without ovals are said to have been produced for the Sears & Roebuck Company. As far as value goes. those crocks with an oval generally will have a higher value. Value on your crock is between $40 & $60. Al Kohlman
