Question:
I am looking to determine the value of a 5 gallon red wing stoneware crock which I would like to sell. The words "Red Wing Union Stoneware Company, Red Wing, Minnesota" are imprinted at the lower part of the crock. The patent date below one handle is December 21, 1915. The stoneware does have some pitting and the red color of the wing appears to be somewhat faded but the crock has no cracks or broken areas.. The handles are black and appear to be the original handles. Thank you for any assistance you can provide. Marilyn
Answer: Marilyn, with the weak red wing along with the pitting, I think a fair value on your Red Wing 5 gallon crock would be in the neighborhood of $50. Al Kohlman
