I was wondering if you could help me with the value of a 1 gallon jug with a shelf on the shoulder. The base is impressed with Red Wing wording. I believe it has a dark blue or black oval stencil on the side of the jug that advertises a wine company in Chicago, IL. I saw it in a shop last month so I am still going by memory, but I believe all of the above information is correct and should be enough for you to determine a value range because you have probably seen one before. Even a general range for a stenciled advertising jug with base debossing would help. The item is in near mint condition. Any help would be appreciated. Thank You. Mark

Answer: Mark, Chicago had a huge market demand for advertising liquor jugs from the Red Wing Stoneware Company. The most common is the Steuben Wine Company. This one gallon jug would have a value around $250. Hope this helps some. Al Kohlman
