Question:
hello- I have a jug that I think is from the 1950′s. I can see it has Redwing logo, but the stamp is blurry. Is there any info someone could provide, is the 1950 date correct? Also- the cork is inside the ug, is there any way to get it out?! Thanks!! Susan

Answer: Susan, your Red Wing 5 gallon beehive jug was manufactured between 1912 & 1917. It has a value between $300 & $350. Now for the cork. You need to tip the jug upside down and move the jug around until the cork somewhat falls into the spout. Once this is done, (hold that jug steady!!!!) take a screw driver or butter knife and wedge it between the cork and one side of the inside spout. Once the cork is wedged so it will not go back into the jug, very slowly take a cork bottle opener and slowly screw that cork screw into the cork (say this three times). Once you have that cork screw into the cork, remove the knife or screw driver and pull out the cork. I have done this quite a few times and it works well. Just take your time and love the challenge.
