Question:
I have a large 6 gallon churn, which we believe to be an early unmarked Red Wing. The ear handles on both sides appear to be Red Wing. The churn has a height is 19", 9 3/4" diameer at eh base and 9 1/2" diameter at the top, and a 34" circumference at the largest area. There is a cobalt blue number 6 with a design and 2 areas with 6 dots. The churn has a 4" hairline from the top rim down almost to the design. There is another 1" hairline (does not go through) at the rim. The 4" hairline started from a small chip on the rim. The rest of the churn is in fine condition. Enclosed are photos. I am going to take bids on this churn and need to know if my asking price is reasonable. Can you let me know for sure if you believe this to be Red Wing as we do? Also what price I can be asking for this churn. No lid but it does have a wooden lid and plunger. Thank you so much? I hope this is not asking to much of you. Respectfully, Marilyn Flesher

Answer: Marilyn, your 6 gallon churn is not Red Wing. I am not sure who was the manufacture. Not being Red Wing or Wisconsin, I just do not have an estimated value for you. Sorry I was of little help. Al Kohlman
