Question:
Can you date this piece, and give an approx value? It has dirty glaze in areas, but is damage free. It has a "5" for gallons in the bottom thx Jim
Answer: Jim, this is the early style of the Red Wing water coolers. Production, somewhere between 1917 and 1920. Now the value is tough. The picture looks like your water cooler is stained on the top half. If this is the case, the value will plummet. If the stain is a shadow from taking the photo, then its OK. The dirt would wash off. You should never try and sell a piece or even get a value unless it is cleaned up. You will be amazed what a clean piece can do. It is about that first impression. If your cooler is not stained the value could fall between $2000 & $3000 depending on what gallon the cooler is. If there is a stain on the top half, the value will be between $300 & $400. Hope this helps. Al Kohlman
