what is an 8 gal hand painted churn worth approximately? there is one on an auction in sauk centre 02/20/10 by schultz auctioneers and we are wondering what it might be worth

Answer: I think the churn you are referring to is the 8 gallon North Star Stoneware Company churn. The value will be based on rare and condition. First of all that churn is rare. second I have heard the bottom front of the churn has pits. Now I have not seen this churn for myself, so I am only going on the information I have received. Value $4000 to $6000 depending on condition of how bad the pitting of the glaze. Al Kohlman
