I have a stoneware crock and would be interested in knowing more about it and perhaps its value. The description is: 5 gallon two handles(made of metal and wood) and has the Red Wing . Also marked Union Stoneware Company , Red Wing, Minn. Patent date: Dec. 2nd 1915. Would appreciate your comments.
Answer: Without seeing a photo of your 5 gallon Red Wing crock, all I can tell you for sure is that it was manufactured between 1915 & 1947. In mint condition the value would be around $50 in today’s ecomony. These 5 gallon Red Wing crocks are quite common as there were the perfect size of home canning. Al Kohlman
