Question:
Hello! I picked up a 5 gal bale handled crock today at an auction, and was wondering how I get it assessed, perhaps a little history of what it might have been used for, and an idea of what I can use this for; ie: how durable are they and are people using them for anything but decoration? Thanks for the time. Shawn

Answer: Your 5 gallon bailed handle Red Wing crock was manufactured between 1915 & 1947. In mint condition in today’s market the value is between $60 & $90. Depends on how well the markings, size of wing and overall good looks. They are very durable and are still used today for canning. Al Kohlman
