Question:
we have a "Redwing Union Stoneware Co." crock that has a number "6" on the it..assuming it is a 6 gallon..with wire handles. the oval is approx 1 3/4" wings are approx 2 3/4". It is in perfect conditon & after reviewing different sites we have determined that it is from 1930-1936 as 1936 is when the name change to Redwing Pottery. Can you give us an estimate of what we should ask for at an auction?? Thank you, Cheryl Burfeind
Answer: Cheryl you are very close on the age of your 6 gallon crock. Age would date between 1936 & 1947. These later crocks have a lower value than the earlier ones. Value with today’s ecomony would be $50 to $75 in perfect condition. Al Kohlman
