Question:
I do not have a pic – I do have a ’10 self draining jar’ w/red wing emblem – a mfg emblem also. I do not know when or where my Mom purchased it. It was in the ‘left behind stuff’ when my Mom died. Can you give me any info with the limited information I have given you?? Thanks

Answer: The Red Wing Self draining jars were manufactured all the way from small 5 gallon to enormous 60 gallons sizes. They were used in dairies, chemical plans and hardware stores and were used to store chemicals, vinegars and any other type of liquid you needed to dispense. Because these jars take up quite a bit of room to display either on top of another crock the same size as the self drainer or a stand, collectors somewhat shy away from them. Your mother’s jar in mint condition (depending on how well marked) would have a value between $100 & $200. Al Kohlman
