I own a Red Wing Spongeband painted jar with a cover and a bail handle…it is in excellent condition. The number 5 is on the lid. I would like to know the value and if there is anyone interested in buying it. Thank you.

Answer: The Red Wing gray line pieces are down some in value. Your mint butter pail with lid has a value in the range of $500, but it could be hard to get that in today’s market. The best advise is to sell it on EBay. The time to sell is about right with collectors not having any auctions, garage sales and of course income tax refunds coming back this time of year. You may also want to try Craig’s list. The Red Wing Collector’s Society also has a bi-monthly newsletter that  you could also advertise in. It is a nice piece. Good luck. Al Kohlman
