Question:
I just have acquired a piece six-gallon stoneware from my grandparents and was wondering its value. It is in very good overall condition, with just a small chip in the left handle and a few hairline fractures on the inside bottom. The printings on the outside are black, and the inside and outside have the same glaze. Thank you!

Answer: You have a 6 gallon elephant ear crock which was manufactured by the Minnesota Stoneware Company. In mint condition it would have a value in the area of $250. With the hairlines and chip, the value would drop to half. Around $125. Al Kohlman
