Question:
I recently acquired a partial set of red wing dinnerware. I was wondering about its worth. The set includes 10 cups, 8 saucers and plates, 1 pitcher, a set of salt and pepper shakers and a butter dish, as well as 4 smaller plates and saucers, 1 large serving platter and 1 divided serving dish. Any information you can provide would be helpful. Karen

Answer: The name of this pattern is Tampico. It was one of Red Wing’s better selling patterns from its introduction in 1956 until the business closed in 1967. The condition of this collection was not included in the description and that is a major factor in determining the value of dinnerware. Most of the items in the photo and description are common and easy to find. The most valuable pieces here are the tall 2 quart pitcher, the divided vegetable dish and the butter dish. This collection is worth $200 to $250 if all items are in excellent, undamaged condition. Any damage significantly reduces the value of an item.
