Answer: Diamond Jim’s was a nightclub located in Mendota Heights, MN along the river just south of Minneapolis and St. Paul. Red Wing produced custom plates for Diamond Jim’s on Hotel & Restaurant Empire shape plates. Five plates sizes were made and each featured an antique automobile in red and black colors. The plate in the photo is either the 6.5 or 7.5 inch size. Most collectors seek one plate of each size. Retail value for a medium sized plate would be around $50. At auction one Diamond Jim’s medium sized plate would likely sell for $25 to $75, depending on the bidders present. Multiple plates in the same auction or all 15 plates sold as a single lot would bring down the price per plate significantly.
