Question:
This appears to be a sort of chaffing dish. Says Red Wing USA in the bottom of the pot. Within stand has two pieces of ceramic comprising the unit that will hold candle or sterno. Bought at a yard sale- its in very good shape. I haven’t been able to find a similar piece searching as of yet. Just curious as to its rarity or value before I decide what i should do with it. Thanks for your time.

Answer: Your item is a 2 quart covered casserole with wooden stand and is from the Buffet Royale buffet service set. Buffet Royale was not a full dinnerware pattern. It consists of serving pieces such as a domed platter, divided vegetable dish, casseroles, covered beverage server, creamer, sugar, salt & pepper, salad bowl and bread tray along with wooden warming stands to keep foods hot. All Buffet Royale items are fairly difficult to find today, especially the stands. Your casserole and stand would be worth around $50-75 in excellent condition.
