Question:
Hi, I have what I believe to be a Red Wing Roundup Relish Dish. I am trying to find out its value. It measures 14" long. The back reads: Red Wing Hand Painted Ovenproof U.S.A. 240. I appreciate any help you can give me. I have been told this is a rare find. On the bottom left point of the dish there is a on the inside crack that appears to be factory there is a small chip on the outside of the rim (on the same corner). Other than that it is mint condition with no crazing. Thank you, Kay

Answer: Kay, you have a Round Up divided vegetable dish. (The relish dish has three compartments and a handle.) I would not consider this piece to be rare; scarce would be more accurate. In any event, Round Up is a very popular pattern with collectors and the demand is greater than the supply. So any piece of Round Up in good condition should be considered a good find.

A Round Up divided vegetable dish in excellent condition should sell in the range of $40 to $60. The damage on your piece, while relatively minor, would reduce the value by at least 25% or more. Many collectors are interested only in pieces with no damage; others will accept some pieces with minimally visible damage.
