Question:
I have a piece of Red Wing that I’m having trouble getting information on. I’ve taken out the books at my new library but no success. Before I moved I was able to get info from another book but can’t seem to find it again. It says on bottom, Red Wing USA, M-1540 so I believe it was made by Charles Murphy. From the earlier book it said it was made in 1956. (No pictures though) Can you confirm the info I do have? Also what would be the value on it and is it common? The outside color is a light brown and the inside is mostly a lime green with cream and gray lines. Modern looking. Thanks so much for your help. I love your site, I learned so much today!

Answer: You are correct with your earlier research. The bowl is part of a hand decorated line, 1956, designed by Murphy. Chartreuse/brown is glaze combination. They come up every so often, and are worth around $35-$40. Glad you like the site. thanks, steve n rose
