Question:
I have a Minnesota Stoneware Co., jug that is in overall great condition–one tiny hairline (less than an inch) and one tiny shallow chip. On the bottom, in raised letters are the words "Minnesota Stoneware Co, Redwing, MINN" The words circle the bottom. Clay is unglazed on bottom. Jug has wide mouth, beehive style, no decoration, applied handle, measures approx. 7 l/2" tall, shows a few glaze runs. Can you tell me its’ value? Thanks! Deborah
Answer: Deborah, you have a Minnesota Stoneware Company wide mouth jug. Even though the hairline is small and a shallow chip, these flaws do hurt it’s value. Collectors today are looking for perfect pieces on common stoneware items such as yours. Value $25 to $30. Al Kohlman
