Question:
did redwing ever make a stoneware salt and pepper where the top of the piece has the salt in one direction and pepper in the other direction this piece is all one piece and similer to spongeware. Sue

Answer: Our stoneware expert may have other information, but to my knowledge the only stoneware shaker made by Red Wing was the large Grey Line (spongeband) salt shaker. Red Wing did make two different one-piece salt & pepper shakers as part of the Gypsy Trail dinnerware line. One style featured two acorns side by side; the other had two trumpet-shaped flowers. Both were available in only bright and pastel solid colors, nothing that resembled spongeware.
